  • Nouns

Kisi vyakti, jagah, jaanvar, ya cheez ke naam ko noun kehte hai. English sentences mai nouns 2 types ke hote hai-

Subject– Jo koi kaam ya action karta hai. Eg. John eats an apple. Yaha “John” ek subject hai kyuki John yaha koi kaam kar raha hai.

Object– Jo koi kaam ya action ko receive karta hai. Eg. John eats an apple. Yaha “apple” ek object hai kyunki woh action receive kar raha hai.

  • Tenses

Tenses kisi kaam ya action ka samay bataate hai. Tenses 3 basic types ke hote hai-

Present tense- jo vartaman ya chal raha samay bataate hai.

Past tense- jo beeta hua ya guzra hua samay bataate hai.

Future tense- jo aage aane wala samay batate hai.

English question ke 3 types hai-

Type 1: Yes/No ke liye English mai questions kaise puche?

Yes/No questions ka matlab hai woh savaal jinse aapko haa ya naa mai javaab mil sakta hai. Yeh savaal puchne aur javaab dene ke liye subse asaan hote hai. Aapne kisi na kisi se toh Yes/No questions puche hi honge. Yes/no questions puchne ke teen types hai-

a) Jab sentence mai sirf ek hi verb ho toh Yes/No questions kaise puche? 

English sentence mai jab ek hi verb use hota hai toh uska sentence structure kuch is tarah ka hota hai-

English question structure- Verb + Subject + Object

English question mai verb aur subject ka position exchange ho jaata hai.

  • She is smart.

Is sentence mai “she” subject hai aur “is” verb hai.

  • They are good friends.

Yaha “are” helping verb hai aur “they” subject hai. Isliye in dono ki position hamare question mai change hojayegi jaise-

  • Anne was sick.

b) Jab sentence mai do verbs ho toh Yes/No questions kaise puche?

Jab aapke English sentence mai do verbs hote hai toh English sentence structure kuch is tarah ka hota hai-

English sentence structure hai- Subject + Helping verb Main verb Object.

English question structure hai- Helping verb Subject Main verb Object.

Yaha subject aur helping verb ki position exchange ho jaati hai.

Examples

  • They were watching a movie.

Yaha “They” subject hai aur “were” helping verb hai.

English question form karne ke liye hum subject aur helping verb ki position exchange kardenge jo ho jayega-

Were they watching a movie?

  • Her sister can sing well.

Can her sister sing well?

  • She had waited for Tom.

Had she waited for Tom?

  • I should clean my room.

Should I clean my room?

c) Does, Do aur Did se Yes/No wale English questions kaise puche?

Does- Does, singular subject aur present tense verb ke saath use hota hai.

Do- Do, plural subject aur present tense verb ke saath use hota hai.

Did- Did, past tense ke saath use hota hai.

Examples 

  • Does she have a car?

Yaha hum “Does” isliye use kar rahe hai kyuki “she” singular subject hai aur “have” present tense hai.

  • Does Ted eat breakfast at eight in the morning?

Yaha “Ted” singular subject hai aur “eat” present tense hai isliye hum “Does” use kar rahe hai.

  • Do they play soccer every afternoon?

Yaha “they” plural subject hai aur “play” present tense hai isliye hum “Do” use karenge.

  • Did she tell him her secrets?

Yaha action past tense mai hai isliye “did” use hoga. 

Type 2: “Wh” questions kaise puche?

“Wh” questions woh questions hote hai jo “Wh” aur “H” se shuru hote hai. Jaise Who, What, Where, Why, Whose, When, How, How much etc. Yeh ek common way to ask English questions hai. Har koi in words ko use karke questions puchta hai. Toh aayiye in questions ke baare mai detail mai jaante hai.

“Wh” questions puchne ke liye English question structure hai- Wh question word or phrase + Helping verb Subject + Main verb Object

Eg.  What are you thinking about?

Type 3: Tag questions kaise puche?

Tag questions waha use hote hai jaha koi information aapko confirm karna ho ki woh sahi hai ya galath. Yeh statements aksar question ke end pe aate hai. Agar aapko pata hai ki koi information correct hai par aap 100% sure nahi hai toh aap tag questions se confirm kar sakte hai. 

Tag question sentence structure mai do parts hote hai.

First part hota hi regular statement.

Second part hota hai tag phrase jaise “Do you agree with me?” Or “Am I right?”.

English Sentence se Tag question banane ke rules:

  • Tag banane ke liye helping verbs use hote hai. Yaha wohi helping verb use honge jo sentence mai ho.
  • Agar aapke sentence mai helping verb nahi hai toh aap Do, Does aur Did use karte hai.
  • Agar aapka statement positive hai toh aap question mai negative tag use karenge.
  • Agar aapka statement negative hai toh aap question mai positive tag use karenge.
  • Tag questions mai aapke statement aur tag ko comma (,) se separate kiya jaata hai.

Examples

  • She is Mrs. Robinson’s daughter, isn’t she?

Yaha Statement hai- “She is Mrs. Robinson’s daughter” (positive)

Yeh statement ek positive sentence hai aur ismai helping verb hai “is”

Yaha tag hai- “Isn’t she” (negative)

Is tag statement ko hum negative isliye bana rahe hai kyuki sentence ka first part positive hai. Aur sentence mai “is” helping verb hai isliye hum tag statement mai bhi “is” verb use kar rahe hai.

  • You weren’t here last night, were you?

Yaha statement hai- “You weren’t here last night.” (negative)

Yaha tag hai- “Were you?” (positive)

  • He lives in Main street, doesn’t he?

Yaha statement hai – “He lives in Main street.” (positive)

Is sentence mai koi helping verb nahi hai kyuki “lives” ek main verb hai.

Yaha tag hai – “doesn’t he?” (negative)

Hum tag mai “does” use kar rahe hai kyuki statement mai koi helping verb nahi hai aur subject “He” ke saath “does” use hota hai.

Doosre examples se aapko tag questions samajhne mai madad hogi.

  • You can help me, can’t you?
  • She got a perfect score on the test, didn’t she?
  • Tom and Ben are friends, aren’t they?

  • Do you know why she left the job?

Iska matlab hai ki “Kya aapko pata hai ki usne woh job kyu chodi?” 

Do you know how much…?

Yaha pe humne pehle phrase ke saath “how much” add kiya hai. Usually hum jab how much add karte hai toh iska matlab hai ki hum kisi cheez ki keemat ya uska price puchna chahte hai. 

  • Do you know how much this car is for?

Iska matlab hai ki aap puch rahe hai “Is car ki keemat kya hai?”.

  • Do you know how much they spend on their wedding?

Kisi ki bohot shaandaar shaadi ki hai aur aap puch rahe hai “Aapko pata hai ki unhone shaadi mai kitne paise kharch kiye hai?”

Do you happen to know…?

Yaha par humne add kiya hai “happen”. Yeh ek tareeka hai puchne ka ki kya koi sambhaavna ya chance hai ki tumhe iske baare mai koi jaankaari ho ya tumhe iske baare mai koi javaab pata ho.

Iska matlab hai ki “Kya tumhe koi idea hai ki mai…? Yeh kisi se unka opinion ya idea puchne ke liye daily life mai use hota hai. Is phrase se kuch questions ban sakte hai jaise-

  • Any idea where I can find a mobile shopee?

Yani “Kya tumhe koi idea hai ki mujhe mobile shoppe kaha milegi?”.

Is phrase se hum saamne waale ko pooch sakte hai ki “kya aap mere liye yeh dhoond nikal sakte hai?”. Aap jab kisi aur ko kaam bataa rahe ho aapke liye information find out karne ke liye toh aapko “could” ya “would” ka use karna hota hai. 

  • Could you find out one phone number for me, please?

Jab bhi hum koi helping verb jaise “would” ya “could” ka use karte hai toh hum “please” add kar sakte hai kyuki yeh bohot acha sound karta hai. Yaha aap pooch rahe hai ki “Kya aap mere liye ek phone number dhoond nikal sakte hai, please?”.

Iska matlab hai “Kya aap uska fone number dhoodh nikal sakte hai?”.
