As Mahendra and his family lay asleep, unsuspecting of the impending horror, a relentless barrage of gunshots erupted at 11:30 PM. Fear gripped Mahendra as his sister, who had been sleeping beside him, collapsed on top of him, her quilt riddled with bullets.

In a state of terror, Mahendra witnessed the gruesome scene as bullets mercilessly rained down. For what seemed like an endless nightmare, the gunfire persisted. After an agonizing 30 minutes, the onslaught subsided.

A Nightmare Unfolds

Cautiously moving his sister aside, Mahendra ventured out of his room, only to encounter the devastating aftermath of the attack. His younger brother lay motionless and bloodied, having succumbed to multiple bullet wounds.

Desperation surged through Mahendra as he carried his brother’s lifeless body to their nearest neighbors, pleading for help. However, his pleas were met with indifference as fear of the attackers consumed the community. With a heavy heart, Mahendra watched helplessly as his brother breathed his last in his arms.

As he grew older, Mahendra realized that his past still haunted him. He yearned for the love and companionship of a family, someone to share life’s challenges and triumphs with. It was then that he proposed to Anupama, the woman who had become his soulmate.
