Formal education initially eluded Amit, but his grandmother initiated him into literacy using a slate and pencil. However, his life took an unexpected turn when his family migrated to the city in search of better opportunities.

Urban Challenges and the Attraction of Engineering

Life in the city posed challenges. Amit’s family settled in a small rented room, and his mother’s aspirations for his older brother to secure a stable job fueled his own dreams of pursuing engineering, a profession promising financial stability.

Health Complications and Unwavering Determination

At the young age of 11, Amit was diagnosed with a heart condition. This obstacle necessitated extended absences from school, but he refused to surrender his ambitions. With unwavering determination, he continued his education through private schools, supported by his mother’s unwavering belief in his abilities.

Despite his health limitations, Amit excelled academically, consistently ranking among the top students in his district. His research journey continued at the renowned IIT Bombay, where he gained invaluable experience and connections that would mold his future. While immersed in his studies, Amit discovered his passion for teaching.

In October 2019, Amit received an unexpected offer from Unacademy, an online education platform, to conduct live classes. Despite initial hesitations, he embraced this new opportunity.

Challenges and Triumphs in Online Teaching

The transition to online teaching brought its own set of hurdles. Amit’s classes initially faced low enrollment, but his unwavering perseverance and dedicated teaching style gradually attracted students.

The success of his students on examinations fueled his passion for inspiring young minds. The COVID-19 pandemic forced Amit to return home, but his commitment to teaching remained strong, and his reach extended to students throughout India.
