Rules

Past Indefinite Tense ko form karne ke kuch tareeke yani ke rules hote hai aaiye dekhte hai wo kya hai. 

1. For Regular Verbs

Simple Past Tense mai Regular Verbs mai form karne ke liye aap ko root form of Verb mai “-ed” add karna padhega. Agar root form of Verb “e” se end ho raha hai to word ke end mai sirf “d” lagana chahiye. Jaise ke: Play→Played,  Type→Typed, Listen→Listened,  Push→Pushed, Love→Loved.

2. For Irregular Verbs

Irregular Verbs, Regular Verbs se thode se complicated hote hai. Kuch Irregular Verbs ke Simple Past Tense same root form of Verb ki tarah dikhte hai. Jaise ke: Put→Put, Cut→Cut,  Set→Set,  Cost→Cost,  Hit→Hit.

3. For other Irregular Verbs

Simple Past Tense form certain nahi hote aur is mai “to be” form bhi included hai.

1. Simple Past Affirmative Sentence – Formation Aur Usage

Jaise ki aap jante hai ki Simple Past Tense ya Past Indefinite Tense situations, events aur actions jo past mai ho chuke hai unko darshata hai.

Jab hum ise Affirmative form mai express karte hai to Verb, subject ke bare mai kuch confirm karta hai. Aaiye dekhte hai ise kis tarah form kiya jata hai.

Formation

Simple Past Affirmative sentences ko Preterite bhi kaha jata hai.  Inko form karne ka formula ya structure janiye.

2. Verbs jinka suffix “-y” hai aur unke pehle ek consonant aata hai wo change karte hai “y” ko “i” mai aur add karte hai “ed”.

• I studied about plants for the exams.- Maine exams ke liye plants ke baare mai padha tha.

• He applied to do gymnastics professionally.- Usne professionally gymnastics karne ke liye apply kiya hai.

3. Verbs jo consonant ke saath hote hai except “w” aur “y” unke pehle stressed vowel aata hai. Isme aapko consonant ko double karna hoga aur “-ed” add karna hoga.

Hum Simple Past Tense ka affirmative form use karte hai ye neeche diye gaye points ko confirm karne ke liye:

1. Actions, situations and events jo past mai hue hai aur past mai hi complete ho gaye hai
2. Repeated events ya habits jo past mai hue ho
3. Past events aur time expressions. Jaise ke: two weeks ago, last year, in 2015 etc.

• Did is the past form of the verb do. (“Did “do” Verb ka past form hai)
• Short form of the Negative Form is didn’t. (“Did not” Verb ka short form “didn’t” hai)

Hum Past Indefinite Tense mai negative sentences form karte hai kuch deny karne ke liye.

1. Actions, situations aur events jo past mai shuru ho ke past mai hi khatam ho gaye ho, inko deny karne ke liye negative form ka use hota hai.

2. Repeated events aur habits jo past mai hue ho, unko deny karne ke liye hum negative form ko use karte hai.

3. Past events jo particular time expressions par hue ho. Jaise ke: Yesterday, last year, in 2010 etc.
